Laparoscopic PCOD Drilling
Laparoscopic PCOD drilling is a surgical procedure that can help women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) ovulate. The procedure involves the use of a laparoscope, a thin fiber-optic cable with a camera at the end, to view the ovaries. The surgeon then uses an electric current or laser to destroy a small portion of thickened tissue on the ovaries. This reduces androgen production (male hormones) and helps manage PCOS symptoms. Laparoscopic PCOD drilling is usually done under general anesthesia and is considered a second-line treatment option for infertility after medication options.
