Ovulation Induction
Ovulation induction is a medical procedure that stimulates ovulation by medication. It is used to reverse anovulation or oligoovulation, which are conditions where women do not ovulate regularlyor those who don’t produce good quality eggs. The procedure involves the stimulation of the development of ovarian follicles.
The medications used for ovulation induction include antiestrogens, follicle-stimulating hormone, and aromatase inhibitors. Ovulation induction can be used in conjunction with triggering oocyte release, such as for proper timing of artificial insemination.
