Social Egg Freezing
Social egg freezing is the process of preserving a woman’s eggs for non-medical reasons to delay childbearing. It is also known as elective egg freezing or social freezing. Women who opt for social egg freezing are usually in their late 20s or early 30s and want to pursue their goals before starting a family¹. The appropriate time for freezing eggs is when the quality and number of eggs are at their peak, which is usually before the age of 35¹. Social egg freezing provides women with reproductive independence and the liberty to have children at the appropriate stage of life¹. It is also a viable option for couples who want to delay pregnancy or are not sure if they want to have children but want to keep their options open of sharing genetic relationships with their future children.
